Terms and Conditions to email sent to isofarro.freeserve.co.uk

Note: The following terms and conditions apply to email sent to email addresses within the domain isofarro.freeserve.co.uk.

  • Unsolicited email, either in bulk or singly, will incur, at the discretion of the webmaster, a clean-up fee of £500.
  • The sending of unsolicited mail is deemed to be the acceptance of the above condition.
  • The decision of whether to invoice/bill will be at the sole discretion of the webmaster.

The reasons for these terms and conditions are rather obvious. A European study conducted at the beginning of 2001 found that Spam (unsolicited commercial email) costed Europeans £3.2 billion.

Perpetrators of spamming don't bear the brunt of these costs, and thus payment is extracted from the receipient email server owners (in bandwidth utilisation, maintenance of overloaded servers) and the email receipients. So we, as email users, are paying to receive email that we don't want.

Charging for receiving unsolicited email won't stop spam, but it will force spammers to pay for the resources they use in sending these unwanted emails.

As a token of appreciation to organisations and groups actively working to reduce the damage caused by spam, proceeds from the above terms and conditions will go to one or more of the following organisations:

  • MAPS: Mail Abuse and Prevention System
  • Cauce: Coalition Against Unsolicited Commercial Email
  • Spamhaus: Database tracking known Spam Gangs.
